South Australian Newsagents Awards

    On the 3rd April the South Australian Annual Newsagents Awards were held at the Donato Reception Centre, Adelaide.

    Our National Sales Manager, Simon Davidson,  attended the evening and presented the "News Technologies" Newsagents of the year to Phil and Leonie Jenner, owners of Port Mall Newsagency. Congratulations !

    A big thank you once again to Colin Shipton, ANF SA Branch Manager for again organising this years awards celebration. The night was an overall success and enjoyed by all attending.

2011 National Newsagents Awards - Winners Announced


    The best of the best gathered at the Melbourne Conference Centre in Melbourne to celebrate and honour newsagents across the country.

ANF Conference Highlights Unity
    The Australian Newsagents Federation (ANF) annual conference was held at the Crown Conference Centre in Melbourne earlier this week.
    A full program on both Monday and Wednesday were close to full, with an enjoyable Golf Day on Tuesday to let delegates unwind.
    Jenlist Distributors are proud to be the Platinum Sponsor at this years event, and values our relationship with newsagents around Australia.

    I managed to speak to almost everyone during the 3 days and was pleased to hear comments from newsagents like "best confernce in 6 years" and "unity is back".

    Congratulations to the ANF team for a well organised and highly successful conference.
 

Queensland Newsagents State Conference

    The Quuesland Newsagents Federation are holding their Annual Conference at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre at Southbank on the 5th July 2011.

    If you are a Queensland Newsagent, then you should make an effort to join fellow newsagents and industry partners for a day full of information, ideas and surprises.

National Newsagent Magazine is 21

    Last night the ANF hosted a celebration for 21 years of National Newsagent.
    Every newsagent in Australia is lucky to have a high quality trade magazine of the calibre and focus that National Newsagent offers the industry.
    Carolyn Doherty (pictured right) is the editor of National Newsagent Magazine. I am lucky enough to have know Carolyn since she started the magazine back in 1990 and have an enormous amount of respect for her determination and passion with both the magazine and the newsagency industry.
    At last nights celebrations held at King Street Wharf, Sydney, Carolyn reminded a crowded room of industry partners, newsagents and friends that the first issue was about the "need for unity, strength and growth, and nothing has changed..."

Summing up, Carloyn said :-
"It’s a fascinating industry and I continue to believe that we can make a difference, to educate and lift the industry through NN and ANF. In another 21 years we may be having a virtual celebration about the online world, who knows, but we do know that right now we are all in this boat together and we all need to paddle furiously to ride the waves of change"

I for one agree. Newsagents have a fabulous industry and the luxury of passionate, supportive people like Carolyn Doherty.
