Samsung #1 in Mobile Simon Davidson - Wednesday, December 19, 2012

Samsung #1 in Mobile

For the first time in 14 years Nokia has been taken over by Samsung as the World’s leading Mobile Phone Brand! And has opened up a growing lead on Apple in the smart phone market.

Samsung’s market share is expected to be 29% of all mobile phone shipments worldwide, with Nokia slipping to 24%.

The other big gain is smartphone sales in general with IHS reporting that smart phones are expected to grow to  56% of the world wide phone market in 2013. When you consider just the smart phone market, Samsung has a 28% market share and Apple has a 20% market share.

These stats all make sense when you consider that Android handsets are now outselling Apple handsets in Australia for the first time. Retailers have been quick to sell iPhone accessories but are they stocking enough Android accessories for the fasting growing accessory market? Click Here for our range, do yourself a favour and market Android accessories alongside your iPhone accessories.

Be SAFE, be PREPARED, be SMART Simon Davidson - Friday, November 30, 2012

Be SAFE, be PREPARED, be SMART

Recent Law changes in NSW have seen demand for Universal Car Mounts sky rocket. The basis of these new rules are:

"Use of Mobile Phones:

While a vehicle is moving or stationary (not parked), adriver may only use a mobile phone to make or receive a
call or use the audio playing function:
 If the mobile is secured in a fixed mounting; or
 If not in a mounting, use of the mobile phone must not require the driver to touch or manipulate the phone in any way.
All other functions including texting, video messaging, online chatting, reading preview messages and emailing are prohibited.

The new laws make it clear that a driver in a moving or stationary vehicle (unless parked) MUST NOT HOLD a phone in his or hand other than to pass to a passenger.

Penalty: 3 demerit points (4 in a school zone) and $298 ($397 in a school zone)
Note: Learner and P1 drivers are prohibited from using any function of a phone (including hands free) while driving."

A retail sales flyer containing all this info is sent out with all Universal Car Mount orders to increase sell thru. @ $19.95 RRP this a great product to be selling your community leading into the holidays. Click Here to place an order.

Think Local, Buy Local Simon Davidson - Tuesday, November 27, 2012

"Think Local, Buy Local"

First we had “Click Frenzy” or as some are calling it “Click Fail” to help Australian retailers compete with the growing shift to online purchases overseas, especially in the US with the current favourable exchange rate.

Now we have another retail first here in Australia “Independents Week” running from December 1st to December 7th, aimed at moving sales from the two dominant retailers in Australia, Coles and Woolworths.

Who combined now have 70% of the Australian Grocery Market, 45% of the Petrol Market, 60% of the Liquor Industry and 65% of the department store industry with Target, Big W and K Mart.

The aim of “Independents Week” is simple:

The week we support our local small business who for generations have been supplying jobs in our community.

It is the week we will buy our……..

  • - Fruit and Vegetable from our Local Fruit Shop
  • - Meat from our Local Butcher
  • - Bread from our Local Bakery
  • - Newspapers and Magazines from our Local Newsagency
  • - Petrol from an Independent Service Station
  • - Liquor from your Local Independent Outlet”

Independents week is not a new phenomenon with the US celebrating its 10th Annual “Independents Week” earlier this year, which is supported by the American Independent Business Alliance.

I’m sure if you ask the Yanks, they will tell you it’s hard work getting something like this off the ground, so I’m not expecting mass awareness of the Australian version in its first year, but it is a promotion that we should all get behind.

“Think Local, Buy Local”
